OliveNation Pinot Gris Grape Seed Powder is made from the seeds and pale bluish skins of grapes used for winemaking. This flavorful varietal is used to make both classic full-bodied French-style pinot gris and lighter, Italian-style pinot grigio wines. Powdered pinot gris grape pomace has a light, zesty flavor with fruity notes that make it ideal for use in pastas, crusts, and other baked goods. Because our pinot gris grape pomace powder contains significant amounts of protein, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, it will add nutritional benefits as well as taste and texture to a wide variety of products from milkshakes and yogurt to sauces and finishing glazes. Completely alcohol-free as well as gluten free, vegan friendly, non-GMO, and contains no added sugars, this powdered ingredient is well-suited to home or professional foodservice use in specialty diet, clean label, better-for-you food and beverage applications and is a great addition to zero-waste or sustainability programs.
Sometimes called wine flour when used in baked goods, all natural grape seed powder makes an excellent thickener in stews, a binder in sausage or other prepared meats, and a non-alcoholic flavoring for milkshakes, smoothies, nutritional drinks, or mocktails. Ground to a fine 100-mesh consistency, pinot gris grape pomace powder disperses evenly in liquids or fats and makes it easy to add nutritional value as well as taste and texture when flavoring chocolate, fillings for truffles, or other confectionery products.
Uses for Wine Grape Seed Powder:
For baked goods, add 1 to 2 TBSP wine grape seed powder per cup of flour. For breads, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup wine grape seed powder per cup of flour. Adjust for more/less flavor, color, texture, or nutritional value as desired. Please note that powdered wine grape pomace should be used to supplement, not replace, regular flours in baked goods, and may require additional liquid for proper texture in recipes. For maximum retention of color and nutritional benefits, baking temperatures under 425° are recommended.

What is Grape Seed Powder?
OliveNation grape seed powder is made using both the skins and seeds of the Vitis vinifera species of grape that includes most of the common cultivars used in modern winemaking. While the juice created by crushing grapes is responsible for creating the natural sugar needed for fermentation as well adding flavor and aroma, the skins and seeds in the pulp left behind after crushing are what create the color and flavor structure of the final wine, especially where red varietals are concerned. This pulpy residue is known as the wine cap, wine marc, or pomace and offers many functional nutritional benefits.
OliveNation's line of grape seed powders are made by drying and grinding wine pomace into a fine 100-mesh powder that is naturally alcohol free, gluten free, and cholesterol free as well as high in protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and contains no trans fats or added sugars. Ground grape seed powder retains the flavor and color of the varietals used, creating an easy to use ingredient for flavoring and natural food coloring that fortifies recipes by adding nutritional value. When used in higher percentages our powdered wine grape pomace will also add color and the taste (but not the alcohol content) of classic wines. OliveNation offers grape seed powders made from some of the most popular wine grape varieties for a full range of colors and flavors that includes both red and white varietals. This versatile byproduct of the winemaking process is also an ideal choice for use in clean label, BFY, zero-waste, and sustainable food and beverage applications as well as zero-proof, NoLo, and NA brewing and RTD manufacturing use.
