BASIC PREPARATION: For 12 Standard Size Cupcakes / 36 Mini Cupcakes / (1) 8" or 9" Cake Pan:
- 1 lb Red Velvet Cake Mix
- 1-1/3 cup Water (in stages)
- 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease baking pan(s) or line pan(s) with parchment paper.
- Add 1 lb Red Velvet Cake Mix to 1/2 cup water and mix for 1 minute on low speed.
- Slowly add second 1/2 cup of water. Mix to combine (about one minute), then scrape the bowl down.
- Add the last 1/3 cup of water and 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Mix until incorporated combine (about one minute), then scrape the bowl down and mix again on medium speed for 1 minute.
- Pour into desired pan(s) and bake immediately.

Bake in pre-heated 375°F oven according to pan size:
- Standard cupcakes: 15-18 minutes.
- Mini cupcakes: 7-12 minutes.
- (1) 8" or 9" cake layer: 20-30 minutes.
- Bake until toothpick or pick shows little to no crumbs after inserting. Overbaking will yield dry texture.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing. Allow to cool completely before frosting & decorating.
FROSTING PREPARATION:
Ingredients:
- 12 oz. Vanilla Frosting Mix
- 10 TBSP unsalted butter at room temperature
- 3 TBSP milk of choice
Directions:
- Beat butter or vegan alternative with electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Add 12 oz. of Vanilla Frosting Mix and milk of choice. Beat on low speed until just incorporated then increase speed to medium and beat for an additional 2 minutes to ensure fluffy texture.
- Using a spatula or piping bag, add frosting to cupcakes (or cakes).
- Add Crushed Peppermint Candy Topping and Chocolate Curls immediately after applying frosting. Edible decorations must be added before frosting sets to a crust.
