Flaxseed is Considered A Super Food
There are many reasons why flaxseeds been referred to as one of the "super foods." These tiny, nutty-like seeds are loaded with health benefits. Consider the fact that flax seeds are considered by many to help fight high cholesterol, fight diabetes, are loaded with lignans, and alpha linolenic acid, which is known as a key player in the fight against cancer, particularly breast and colon cancer. Flaxseeds are also a notable source of omega-3 fatty acids which have been known to decrease blood clotting, prevent heart arrhythmias and combat inflammation.
Health Benefits of Flaxseed
Despite their small size (flax seeds are about the size of a sesame seed) they are loaded with nutrition for starters. They are also a rich source of complete protein, high in fiber, and contain large amounts of vitamins and minerals. In addition to being especially rich in potassium, folic acid, and omega 3 fatty acids, flaxseed contains various phytochemicals thought to have antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory functions.

Great Oil
Great quality flax oil. I use it with brown rice vinegar to make a delicious and healthy salad dressing.

Flax Seed Oil
This oil is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids. It has a strong, but pleasant flavor. It's smoke point is too low to use it, pure, for cooking. I dilute it , 1 part flax seed oil and 9 parts macadamia nut oil. At that ratio, it's still nutritious and the careful cook can use it in a fry pan.
