strong flavor
A butter flavoring is not the same as butter extract. We had to reduce the amount of product by half to not overpower our recipe. And even at that it was not as good as the McCormick butter extract we had been using. The question we have to ask ourselves is, will the purist recognize the difference? Will cost win out over a minor taste difference?

This is the one
We have been experimenting with a lot of different brands and extracts for our products. This, and a couple other OliveNation extracts were superior to the others we tried.

Good when combined with other flavorings...
I usually adore OliveNation flavorings. I use them in coffee, ice cream, and baked goods. I think I have at least 25 different extracts and absolutely adore them. With such a great experience with all of the extracts so far, I was super-hopeful about the butter flavor. I don't know how the formula was changed but I really just don't love this product. It just doesn't taste like butter; it has a tang that gives you a double-take. It's a little like the butter flavoring in a bag of microwave popcorn. It's kind of disappointing. Honestly, I love OliveNation so much that I hate to mention that I don't care for this one. Sorry about that! Every single fruit flavoring, the maple, caramel, butterscoth...they are delightful! I also love the droppers!
