Here are some other ideas for enjoying wild rice: Add to soups Top salads Mix into casseroles Make rice pilaf Basic Cooking Instructions Combine 1 cup of rice with 4 cups of water or salt. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt unless the stock contains salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer for 45 to 50 minutes until tender. When done, the rice should be chewy. You may need to drain the excess water by carefully pouring the rice in a strainer over the sink. Fluff rice with a fork.
