Cardamom Whole GreenThese Whole Green Cardamom pods are about 1/2" long containing approximately 20 seeds, and have a fresh green color and pungent, aromatic flavor. While Whole Green Cardamom is native to India and is used often in South Asian cuisine mostly in curries and teas, this unique and fragrant spice is also traditionally used in Scandinavian sweet dishes, such as coffee cakes and pastries. Chewing on cardamom pods is said to calm an upset stomach while sweetening the breath. Before adding to baked goods, curry blends or any other recipe, remove seeds from pods and grind. Place crushed pods and seeds in a cheesecloth bag for tea infusions.
