OliveNation De-stemmed Tepin Peppers are fantastic in Mexican cuisine with their fiery and fruity flavor. Harvested in Mexico, the Tepin Chile, also known as a chiltepin, may be small, but it delivers big heat. Ranging from 50,000 to 70,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale, the Tepin Pepper is very hot -- about 20 times hotter than a jalapeno pepper! But fear not, the heat quickly dissipates. Tepin chiles are round and 1/4 inch in diameter; they scale in color from red-orange to red-brown. Try Tepin Peppers in your favorite Mexican recipes like posole. You can also add the chile pepper to chili, salsa, and stew. This product is non-GMO and gluten-free.
How to Use: Rinse and soak chiles in hot water for 10 minutes. You can also add them directly to a dish that cooks for 10 minutes or more.
Note: To protect your skin, always wear rubber gloves when working with hot peppers.
