OliveNation sprouted brown rice is germinated, giving it a soft chewy texture and a delicate sweet flavor. The sprouting process increases vital nutrients, vitamins and amino acids like Gamma Aminobuteric Acid (GABA). Sprouting the rice also helps to reduce the cooking time.
Sprouted brown rice can be used in a variety of recipes or any where you would normally use brown rice. Try it in a vegetable risotto with carrots, zucchini and green peas or in a savory Asian fried rice. It can also be ground into a naturally gluten free flour for making bread and other baked goods.
How to Prepare Sprouted Brown Rice: Even though sprouted brown rice is best when cooked in a rice cooker, it can also be made on the stovetop. 3 cups of cold water. Bring to a boil. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid, reduce the heat to simmer for approximately 30 minutes. (Do not remove the lid. The steam helps the cooking process.) Remove the lid and gently fluff with a fork.
