Description
The scorpion chile (like the ghost chile) is touted as the hottest chile on earth (depending on who you ask). Its Scoville rating is as high as 1.5 million. The Trinidadian Scorpion chile packs a bite that should be taken very seriously and in small quantities. Handle all hot chile peppers with gloved hands. "You take a bite. It doesn't seem so bad, and then it builds and it builds and it builds. So it is quite nasty," Paul Bosland, renowned pepper expert and Director of the Chile Institute, told the Associated Press. Use this chile is very small quantities to replace other chiles in your recipes.
