A Middle Eastern favorite (especially smeared on pita bread for breakfast), Lebanese Za'atar is believed to make the mind alert and the body strong. Its zesty/herby/nutty flavor makes it delicious mixed with olive oil for dip, in a wrap combined with fresh tomatoes, green olives onions and mint leaves, or even as a topping for steaks, rice and vegetables. There are many Za'atar recipes but this one includes the most ingredients. Ingredients: ground sumac, spices, sesame seed, salt, and canola oil.

    Cant Keep it Long Enough

Posted by Christopher on Dec 14th 2013

I ordered a small jar used it then used it all in about a week. It is incredibly versatile and flavorful. I used it in soups yogurt dips hummus on vegetables in marinades rice dishes etc. My favorite was a compound butter I made using it and a little extra sumac and fresh garlic. Great on chicken or fish.

We loved it sprinkled on vegetables and pita bread! We are going to also try it on salad and in olive oil. Love the warm enticing flavor! Will be ordering more.
