Description

Fine White Polenta by OliveNation is fine-ground white cornmeal. We use it to make the popular Italian porridge, polenta. Fine polenta cooks faster than coarse polenta, saving you time in the kitchen. In addition to a creamy side dish, cooked polenta can be used to make polenta cakes. 

Our Fine White Polenta is unseasoned. You can add herbs, mushrooms, salt, and other spices to enhance its flavor. We like to use creamy polenta as a bed for short ribs, meat sauce, and chili.

Preparation:
Bring 5 cups water or stock to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon salt (optional). Slowly whisk in 1 cup polenta. Cook for 3-5 minutes until thick. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes until soft; occasionally stir to prevent burning.

To make polenta cakes, reduce stock or water to 4 cups and cook as described above. Pour into a loaf pan or square dish and chill for 2 hours or more. Slice and grill or fry as desired.
