Not candied peel, more like candied fruit

Posted by lee jenkins on Oct 1st 2018

We make our own candied peel oranges and lemons, but wanted to save time so tried these. Mistake! This is soft fruit (think jelly bean) for fruit cake, not candy peel, which is usually drier and harder. It was hard to tell this was actually fruit, rather than a gum version of fruit. If you are buying for fruit cake it is fine, if buying for a garnish, like we were, i'd not recommend.

Review for Candied Orange & lemon Peels

I use these in my biscotti recipes and they add a lot of flavor and texture to the biscotti. They are much better than the semi-dried out citrus peels that I get at my supermarket

    Excellent quality

Comparable to what I can make myself at home - no additives, and it works great in stollen and fruitcake.

It is a very good quality of orange peels. Very Juicy but not too sweet, I like it as a snack.

I'm NOT a fan of candied fruit, but this was very tasty, and balanced. I will eat it, and use it in some cake and cookie recipes.

    Best I've Found

I've tried various candied citrus peels, and these are the best I've found. Moist, good texture, not too sweet, and good flavor.
