We like to use Black Garbanzo Beans in falafel, comforting stews, Indian dishes, and hummus. These beans have a firm texture and work well in a variety of dishes. They're filling, delicious, and low in fat. Just one serving has 7 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber, making Black Garbanzo Beans a nutritious addition to a meal.
This bean is also known as black chickpeas, desi chana, kala chana, ceci neri, Bengal gram, kabuli, kala chana, and safaid beans.
Soak Black Chickpeas overnight. Rinse well and place in a large pot. Cover beans with fresh water. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, reduce heat and simmer covered for 60 to 90 minutes until tender. Skim the foam often.
