Map of Riesi in Sicili
The Alabasio farm is located in the town of Riesi in the southwestern province of Caltanissetta Sicily, 25 kilometers from the coast. Approximately 2,500 liters of oil are produced on about 3.5 hectares (approx. 9 acres) from nocellara etnea, and carolea olives along with the century-old olive varieties of giarraffa and minnulara. Picked by hand and blended together within 24 hours of harvest, it is the blending of these four varieties that gives La Uliva organic extra-virgin oil its special fruity taste.
