About Us
Direct from Italy to Your Pantry
Our family estate lies just outside of Venarotta, in the beautiful yet relatively un-touristed Marche region of Italy. For us, the best part of being home is sitting down for hours at the kitchen table: talking, laughing, arguing,.. while savoring exquisite meals created with everyday simple ingredients directly from the land. Sometimes it’s our kitchen but as many times it’s the neighbor’s.
We like our food fresh, traditional and “squisito”! Like many Italian families, we and our neighbors produce small quantities of our own olive oil, vinegar, wine, sausages and cheeses each year. And like other Italian farmers—even those whose “farm” is just a tiny plot of tomatoes and eggplant—we are very proud of what we produce. We care a lot about “how good” and little about “how much” – and we love to share!
It is in that same tradition that my husband and I created the idea of Olivenation…to share with our American friends and neighbors a select few of the great ingredients we have found (and personally tasted) in our travels throughout Italy. All of these culinary treasures are from small independent producers in Marche, Tuscany, Sicily and Puglia and, as you might expect, are in limited supply. We delight in sharing them with you.
